Motorola Online unlocking software FAQ's

"Error No Response from server"

  • Check that you have entered the correct login/password correctly. These are case sensitive and there should be no additional spaces at the beginning  or end of the username / password.
  • Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet.

If this  does  not fix the problem, then the problem is probably caused by a firewall blocking the software's access to the port necessary to connect to the server (port 3131). If you are using a software firewall then it is simplest to temporarily disable the firewall. If you are using a hardware firewall (or router) then you will need to use port forwarding.

Software Firewalls

Software firewalls can be disabled by either closing the firewall application (McAfee, Symantec, ZoneAlarm etc) or by unblocking port 3131 to the Motorola Unlocking software. If you are using Microsoft Windows XP firewall, Windows will ask whether you would like to give the software access to the internet. See image to the right >>

Hardware Firewalls

www.portforward.com/ is a great resource for instructions on how to use port forwarding on a range of different routers. Go here for instructions on how to use your router to forward port 3131. The option to allow UDP on this port should be enabled.

Although very rare we do have occasions when the server is genuinely unavailable. Please allow at least 30mins to 1hr for the server to become available.
